Nomura told Famitsu he’s too busy with other projects, and he’s confidant enough that the series’ direction and gameplay are well established that he’ll no longer need to act as director. However, Nomura will still have an indirect role as creative director.

Hamaguchi served as Final Fantasy 7 Remake’s co-director. Prior to that, he was Mobius Final Fantasy’s project lead and the director for Final Fantasy XIII: Lightning Returns.

So that’s at least one thing we know for sure about Final Fantasy 7 Remake Part Two and the only thing for now. How long Part Two will be and what might happen is still completely up in the air, even more so than before now Square Enix unveiled an all-new DLC episode starring Yuffie, a formerly optional character from later in the original game.
