The first set of features talked about were the new dungeons to be introduced in the patch. Each patch since 3.1 has generally brought two new dungeons to Final Fantasy XIV, and this patch will be no different. The latest additions are Great Gubal Library (Hard) and Xelphatol.
Great Gubal Library (Hard)
Great Gubal Library (Hard) is an area in which the players will revisit an older dungeon that was introduced in the expansion patch, 3.0 – Heavensward. The dungeon will require players to be level 60 with a minimum item level of 210. The developers have shared the following about the dungeon:
Xelphatol
The second dungeon that is being added is called Xelphatol. It is a brand new dungeon that has never been seen before in the game, offering players a brand new experience upon entering the dungeon. Similar to Gubal Library, this dungeon will also require players to reach level 60 and have a minimum item level of 210.
Square Enix shared the following about the dungeon:
Main Scenario Quests
Your story in the land of Ishgard continues from the cliff hanger ending of Patch 3.3. With a selection of brand new missions you’ll be able to find out the fate of your friend, Alisaie, and learn more about the Warriors of Darkness.
Screenshot Commands
Very soon you’ll be able to control every aspect of your screenshots. If you are a glutton for fashion and all things beautiful in your games, this is a blessing for you. The feature promises to add dozens of new commands, filters, and lightning tools to give you the perfect screenshot every time. Using new commands like the ability to freeze characters mid pose for a screenshot combined with the stunning variety of options will give you the opportunity to create hundreds of thousands of unique combinations.
The developers have been kind enough to share several photos which show off the power of the new feature, giving us a preview of the different filters, lightning tools, and posing options. You can preview them below.
It has also been shared that many of these features will also be available for not only the group pose command, but also for the idling camera feature as well. You’ll be enjoying your time in Eorzea and Ishgard in a whole new view soon enough.
Final Fantasy XIV: Heavensward is available now for Microsoft Windows, Mac, PlayStation 3, and PlayStation 4.
