Do you brave the locations that are likely to have swarms of other players? Or do you land somewhere less popular and gear up with sub-par to average items before trying your hand at some of the more crowded locations?Whatever your preference is, you’ll need a good strategy to get the loot you need. This guide will lay out the steps you need to get the best loot possible in PUBG.
1. Decide What Your Strategy Is
Obviously, there are merits to both strategies. If you’re willing to risk a confrontation with a gaggle of other players, go big and go for the high-risk drops. Your risk of dying will be a lot higher, but if you don’t die, you might end up with some awesome loot. If you choose to drop into a more high-risk area, one important thing to consider is whether or not you want to use first or third-person view. Many players will choose first-person, but it may be easier to watch your own back in third.
If you’re really looking to stick it out until the end and want to improve your odds, you’ll want to drop just outside the best loot locations or go for a totally low-key area and work your way toward the better locations. You might not end up with the best loot, but if you make the right series of moves, you can still end up with good items – and you might last a lot longer, too.
2. Choose Where You Want to Drop
Here are some locations known to have awesome loot:
Gorgeopol Mylta Powerplant Rozhok School Yasnaya Polyana Sosnovka Island
Most of these locations will have a lot of other players dropping with you, so be wary if you drop directly into these locations. The Mylta Powerplant will probably be the least crowded, but you will have a more difficult time finding a vehicle here.
Steam user fliberdoodle has created a graphic on the best spawn locations in PUBG. You can see that he recommends dropping outside of high risk zones, which are noted with black squares.
3. Once You’ve Dropped, Be Quick and Ready to Fight
If you’ve chosen to drop right where the loot location is, your work is cut out for you. Be quick, be ready for a fight, and don’t get killed.
If you’re outside a loot location or absolutely in the middle of nowhere, you may need a little more strategy. You’ll still need to stay alert, too – just because you’re in a rural area doesn’t mean you’re alone. Be wary of other players who have dropped near you, especially in seemingly low-key buildings. Once you land, scope out the area where you’ve landed, pick up whatever you can (ideally, you’ll want to have at least a pistol).

Once you’ve geared up, it’s your choice whether you want to find a safe place to wait out part of the game or if you want to rush into combat full-force. No two games will be the same, so try lots of different drop points multiple times to see if it yields different results. Happy looting!
